Start with the intended retail position
Decide whether the model is intended as an entry-level home sauna, a premium wellness product or a project unit. This affects capacity, heater system, glass area, controls, accessories, packaging and target price.
Far-infrared and full-spectrum configurations
Ask the supplier to describe the heater type, placement, rated power and control method for the exact model. “Full spectrum” should not be treated as a complete technical specification. Request the component configuration and verify what is included in the quoted version.
Wood and cabin construction
Common options include hemlock and red cedar, but grade, moisture control, panel construction, finish and visible color variation matter. Confirm whether the quoted material applies to the complete cabin or selected surfaces.
Capacity and usable interior space
A “two-person” label is only a starting point. Review external dimensions, bench size, door opening and internal layout. Buyers should consider the body sizes and space expectations of their target market.
Electrical requirements
Confirm rated voltage, frequency, power, plug type, cable, protection requirements and component ratings. Do not assume a 110–120 V version is identical to a 220–240 V version. Installation and circuit requirements must be reviewed locally.
Controls and optional features
Document which features are standard and optional: temperature control, timer, lighting, chromotherapy, Bluetooth audio, speakers, oxygen ionizer, reading light or app control. More features can increase service complexity, so match them to the retail price and support capability.
EMF and performance claims
If low-EMF or other performance claims are commercially important, request the test method, measurement position, operating condition and report for the exact configuration. Avoid relying on an isolated marketing number without context.
Packaging and assembly
Review the number of cartons, dimensions, gross weight, pallet option, assembly method and protection for glass and controls. Test the assembly instructions with someone who was not involved in product development.
